Needing a good connection; Humbling pub moments

Nothing much to report today - computer work all day. I’m amazed how slowly to work goes with an unreliable internet connection and a noisy distracting environment. After dinner, a bizarre late-night walk through the weekend streets of Kilkenny’s pub district, full of hugely drunk tourists and the locals who love them. Every pub had at least one security guard at the door. Along the walk I noticed a pub called Kyteler’s, established 1324. Yes, that’s a 3, not an 8. It’s humbling, really, coming from such a recently-settled country, comparatively. People were drinking in this pub before the Americas were discovered by Europe. I expect a lot more of these humbling moments the longer we travel in Europe.
